Headshot for Megan Roth's About the Teacher Webpage

A multi-faceted musician, Megan is a professional singer who began her musical studies on the piano and violin, and has over 19 years of experience teaching students of all skill levels, from college students to young children just starting out in their musical journey. Her students have won and placed in national competitions such as the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), Classical Singer Competition and the Hal Leonard Vocal Competition.

In September 2016, Megan established a private studio in Boston, Massachusetts. Prior to her relocation to the east coast, Megan maintained a studio of over 25 students in Bloomington, Indiana. She is thrilled to be returning home to Boston, where she taught for many years out of her home studio and local community music centers, including the North End Music and Performing Arts Center, The New School, The North Shore Music and Performing Arts Center and the German International School of Boston, where she was the coordinator for the piano program. Megan has also taught at the Thomasville Road Academy of the Arts in FL, and as a graduate teaching assistant at Florida State University.

Megan enjoys teaching all ages and skill levels, from those at the beginning stages of their musical development, to young singers who are pursuing a career in music, to adults who wish to incorporate music-making back into their life. Equally devoted to her own study of the violin, piano, and voice, Megan is eager to help other budding musicians find their own unique path and enhance their lives through the joys of music.

Megan holds a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from DePaul University in Chicago, a Master of Music in Vocal Performance and Artist Certificate in Opera Performance from Florida State University. She has participated in several orchestral summer programs including Sewanee Music Festival in TN, Idylwild Arts Festival in CA, and the Chautauqua Music School Festival Orchestra in NY. While in Chicago, Megan co-founded and performed in the Vivace String Quartet. Megan was a member of the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra from 2001-2006, and is currently a member of the Brookline Symphony Orchestra.

On the operatic stage, Megan has appeared with Boston Midsummer Opera, Opera Boston, Boston Baroque, the Boston Neo-Politan Chamber Orchestra, Opera Providence, and the American Repertory Theatre, among others. On the concert stage, Megan has been a featured soloist with the Rhode Island Civic Chorale and Orchestra, the Bach Chorale Singers (IN), the Greater Concert Singers of Lynn (MA), the Pioneer Valley Symphony and Chorus, Choral Art Society (MA), Commonwealth Opera, and the Marblehead Festival Chorus and Orchestra.
